Rare Case of Retroperitoneal Lymphangioma in an Adult
Retroperitoneal lymphangiomas are uncommon benign tumors that typically present in infancy. They are more commonly found in the neck and axilla, with intra-abdominal occurrences being less frequent. Retroperitoneal lymphangiomas are particularly rare, often discovered incidentally during surgery, autopsy, or imaging studies.
This case report highlights an unusual presentation of a retroperitoneal lymphangioma in an adult patient. Despite challenges in differentiating it from other cystic growths using imaging alone, laparoscopic surgery was successfully employed to remove the tumor and confirm the diagnosis.
