Rare Case of Primary Hydatid Cyst of the Spleen
Hydatid disease, a parasitic infection, typically affects the liver and lungs. However, in rare instances, it can also involve the spleen. Primary splenic hydatid cysts, which develop independently without spreading from other organs, are even less common.
This case report describes a patient with a primary hydatid cyst of the spleen. The cyst was successfully removed through a traditional surgical approach. By reviewing this case and relevant literature, the management of splenic hydatidosis is explored.
